Scouting for Food

Scouting for Food was organized by leaders of Troop 19. The Chairman was Paul Mason. His Co-Chairman were Chris Swan & Aaron Hammond. The bag pickup and food distribution was done on November 12, 2005. Below are pictures from the event. Click on the Picture to enlarge.

The boxes were unpacked early in the morning in hopes of filling them all.

We were cheap, so we made improvised signs

The scouts were hard at work packing the food.  20 items per box

Our production line from bag to box was very efficient.

Tim Finnin joined in later on.  Mr. Finnin was a chairman of Scouting for Food in past years so he helped with leadership on this year.

The flow of food seems to have no end.

Here come the Marines!  Local Marine Corps unit provided three vehicles to take food boxes to local charities.

You can tell from this picture that we were really cheap.

What do you expect?  We had no budget.

The back end of one of the Marines' vehicles.  They were ready to take all we could give them.

Preparing to leave.  Next stop, charities.

Scouts load the final boxes.

More boxes and more trucks.

We give special thanks to the Marines.  We couldn't do it without y'all.  Thanks.

The total boxes collected was 175 boxes.  That's over 3,500 food items.  Wow!
