 Items needing to be discussed tonight:

Weekends in Feb & March!!!  We’ll be meeting @ different Food Lion Grocery Stores to sell Discount Camp Cards!!                                  NOTE:  For any scout that sells the Camp Cards for  3 weekends:  Their costs for attending the Tuscarora Civil War reenactment camping trip will be paid for by the troop.  This camping trip will also count towards any scout working on Cit. of the Nation.  This is a $20 savings!!!

 Bring Backpack, …. Bring money for March trips!!!   Everyone, please bring all Camp Cards that you have not sold plus all money.  Scouts that have not paid their dues, BRING your MONEY to pay.

8 Monday Meeting

Operation Michael : Please collect any items (such as toothpaste, chap stick, baby-wipes, etc.  everyone was sent an e-mail with the list)  Please start bringing all items to the meetings.

Talk about Scout Show……..

Camping trip for March:   Bentonville Civil War trip $20.                              

Bentonville Civil War Reenactment, the battle is $8 each, camping at Tuscarora $2, food will be $10.  The tickets for the battle need to be purchased NOW, if late the tickets are $10.  Money for food will cover: Friday cracker barrel, Saturday breakfast, lunch & dinner w/dessert, Sunday breakfast and maybe sandwiches for lunch.  NEED: list of scouts going, list of adults going and adults that can drive up there.  Need to decide on departure time.

Personal Fitness Merit Badge; see Mr. James.  Please keep up with your Personal Fitness and turn in any reports to Mr. James

 Backpacking Merit Badge:  All scouts interested… bring your backpack to meeting tonight with “everything” in it that you would pack for a 3 night trip.   Do not pack food or water but do pack the container/sack/bag/bottle that you would normally have your food & water in.   

Hiking & Backpacking Merit Badge, see Mrs. Mason & Mrs. Beth.  Need to plan a backpacking trip in April!!! Croatan Nat. Forest:   Scouts planning on going on this trip will pick a weekend “day only” to meet at Carolina Beach State Park.  We will arrive with backpacks fully packed and walk to the wilderness camping site.  There we will set up camp just like we would if camping.  We will have a class on how to pack and what to not pack.  Expect to be there about 3 hours.  This is open to any/all scouts wanting to get into the Backpacking merit badge.  Talk about next week, bringing your backpack.  If any parents want to go on the Croatan Trip, they will need to attend the work up meetings.

Need to plan a meeting during daylight to clean the trailer and get it ready to take on next camping trip.   Will need the QuarterMaster. 

Scout Planning:   Clean up trailer, make list of items needing to be replaced (like gas tank needs refilling)  Make list of all scouts going on this trip. 

12, 13, 14 Weekend: 

Meet at your assigned Food Lion to sell Camp Cards.

Work up meeting for Croatan Trip… One Day Meet!!  Meet at Carolina Beach State Park… Meet at Marina… @ 2pm… Have backpack packed for a 3 day trip including water (for 1 day) and food (for 1 day).  Have tent (or your half of tent).  This will take about 3 hours.

15 Monday Meeting    Final plans for upcoming camping trip.  Collect all moneys due. Go over tents and buddy system in tents.

19, 20, 21 Weekend   Camping @ Tuscarora   We will be going to a Civil War Reenactment on Sat.  We need to leave as early as possible due to a LOT of other people also going and camping in the area.  Meet @ Activity Center @ …..

22 Monday Meeting   First thing will be to clean up the trailer.  Talk about the Civil War Reenactment.   Lessons learned?

26, 27, 28 Weekend

29 Monday Meeting   Scout planning: May camping trip is Spring Camporee.  Fees for camping are due.
